Bell Park Planting Day and Celebration this Saturday!

MAMA volunteers are all set to plant on October 19 and look forward to seeing everyone at Bell Park to help bring our project to completion. We need help with planting, further clean-up and mulching on that Saturday morning. We need as Bell Park Volunteermany volunteers as possible. Please come for all or part of the morning.

Registration will be between 8:30 and 9 and we will start work promptly at 9 a.m. to replant several existing beds and to create three new ones.  Our area park will take on new life with the completion of the project!

If you can’t come plant, you can still help out. We have raised over $28,000 but still need about $3,000 more to complete the project.  Your donation is much-needed – in any amount! To donate, go to houstonparksboard.org and look for Bell Park in the drop down menu near the credit card information on the donor form.  Or, you can mail your donation to Houston Parks Board with Bell Park in the memo to: Houston Parks Board, 300 N. Post Oak Lane, Houston TX 77024.

Please bring your completed volunteer release form.

Volunteers are asked to bring their own tools, though we will have extras on hand

Suggested items to bring:
Water and snacks
Garden gloves
Shovels
Rakes

We also want everyone who comes to help out to join us in celebrating, following the planting project. Around 11:30 to 12:00 we will gather in front of Gabriel Architects, adjacent to Bell Park, on Milford for lunch and a toast, hosted by Barbara Aksamit, John Gabriel and Chipotle – with thanks to our volunteer Amy Kugali McWilliams.

RSVP to Leslie Gerber at lgerber@comcast.net or call 713-807-9677 if you have any questions.
