Save the Date – Bell Park Volunteer Days
It’s time to get out your garden gloves and head to the Bell Park to help MAMA beautify our neighborhood gem. Please mark your calendar for one or both of the volunteer days below. We would love your help in this great project to improve the landscape at the Park.
September 28: Bed Prep Day
We need 8-10 volunteers (or more) to bring their shovels, garden gloves and rakes to the park a little before 9AM to work together on cleaning the walkways, removing gravel from the beds to be planted and other clean-up tasks.
October 19: Planting Day
We will put in the new plants and beds that will help make Bell Park more beautiful. We need 10-20 volunteers to do the planting, also armed with gloves and tools, arriving at 8:30AM.
This day we complete the project – and then we celebrate!
We need a head count to make sure we have enough people to get the job done.
Please indicate your interest with email to Leslie Gerber, lsgerber@comcast.net or call 713-807-9677 if you have any questions.
More details to follow as we get closer to the dates.
Tues, Oct. 1

Bell Park
As you may be aware, MAMA is raising money to restore the gardens and trim the trees in Bell Park based on a solid plan developed by Carvel Glenn, a MAMA member. We need to raise an additional $3,800 by the end of September to reach our goal of $31,000, and we are hoping you will support our efforts by making a contribution. Your donation is tax-deductible through the Houston Parks Board. For a summary of the project, click here. If you do choose to donate, also please send a note to president@mamahouston.org to assist us in monitoring our progress. Thank you!
